Approximately half the addresses were in Madrid, mainly in the Salamanca district and surrounding area, so I started my work in this city. In the first phase of the project, I photographed the front doors and entrance halls in these houses: empty passageways where time appears to stand still, decorated in a style that recalls the horror and ghosts of the past. In the second phase I photographed property throughout Spain, broadening the scope of residential premises to give an idea of the real estate they owned. Both phases are underpinned mainly by photography.
